Monolith Soft and Nintendo have released an extensive trailer for the upcoming Wii U exclusive Japanese role-playing game Xenoblade Chronicles X, outlining some of its main features and introducing its characters.

An enthusiastic player took the time to translate the dialogue and provided a version of the trailer featuring English subtitles, making all the information within much more accessible.

The game seems loaded with fun content and features some pretty snazzy visuals and a wide variety of gameplay options.

Just like the original Xenoblade, the title will emphasize exploration, and its combat system will be very similar to the original, with the added bonus of making use of the Wii U's GamePad controller, used to gather various vital data during confrontations, acting as an information terminal.

It would have been interesting to see this effort made by Nintendo themselves, trying to push the game to the English-speaking audience ahead of release, but at least now we can finally understand what's going on.

The lengthy, 24-minute video showcases many of the environments you'll be able to explore and offers an overview of the universe and the storyline you'll be following.

Xenoblade Chronicles X is coming out on April 29 in Japan and later on this year worldwide, exclusively to the Wii U home console from Nintendo.
