It's still unclear just how the Xbox One will deal with pre-owned games

Microsoft has just issued another statement concerning the way its next-generation Xbox One console is dealing with used (aka pre-owned) games.

The company says that the policies are still being discussed, so the potential fee is still undecided.

The Xbox One was revealed to the world earlier this week, and Microsoft briefly touched on the issue of used games, saying that a fee will be applied to those who want to play pre-owned titles.

Afterwards, a more detailed statement confirmed that the fee will actually be the game's retail price, so apparently the Xbox One eliminates used gaming because those who buy pre-owned copies on the cheap now will still have to buy the game at its full price, thus defeating the purpose of buying used titles.

Now, Xbox Community Manager Larry Hryb told fans in an open chat that Xbox One policies relating to used games are still being finalized and that, when a decision is made, the company will share it with fans.
