The joint project between AMD and Microsoft that led to the development of the custom silicon solution for the newly revealed Xbox One cost the two companies more than 3 billion dollars (2.31 billion Euro).

Bob Feldstein is at the moment the vice president of technology licensing at AMD's rival Nvidia, which means that his statements should be taken with a grain of salt.

He writes on his LinkedIn profile, spotted by Gamechup, that "This required the coordination of multiple functional teams within AMD, as well as regular customer meetings with leadership teams responsible for handling the challenges of complex, multi-year deals. This project is valued at $3+B."

AMD seems to be one of the big winners of the next-generation console development, after working with Nintendo and Sony in addition to Microsoft.

The Xbox One will launch before the end of the year.
