The team at Microsoft in charge of the Xbox Live service is announcing that at the moment the network is having problems on both the Xbox One and the Xbox 360 and that it is working hard in order to find the cause of the issues and deal with it.

The official status page explains that both in-game saved game data and certain video games are affected, Titanfall being the most prominent among them.

Microsoft adds, "Our team is already hard at work trying to get everything fixed. We appreciate your patience while we investigate this. We'll update you again when we have more information."

It seems that this is a problem with the Xbox Live architecture rather than an attack coming from an outside source, although the company has offered limited info so far.

Both in late 2014 and earlier this year, the Microsoft service and the PlayStation Network from Sony were targeted by groups that sought to take them down in order to annoy users at first, and then to try and access their personal data.

The two companies have said that they have upgraded their defenses and are aiming to work with authorities to find those who launched the previously recorded attacks.
