Phil Spencer, the leader of the Xbox One division at Microsoft, is accepting the Ice Bucket Challenge associated with the ALS fund raising efforts and is posting a video that shows him drenched in ice water and his reaction to the event.

The executive says that he is also making a donation, although he is not specifying the amount, and nominates video game executives Shuhei Yoshida from Sony, Reggie Fils-Aime from Nintendo, and Gabe Newell from Valve to take part next in order to raise awareness of ALS, which is also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease.

The Ice Bucket Challenge has been trending in the past few days, and a range of athletes and celebrities have accepted it and recently a number of figures from the video game world have also used it to raise awareness of the disease and make donations.

Phil Spencer is in charge of the Xbox One home console at Microsoft and he has a rather hard task ahead of him as he tries to create a strategy which allows his platform to catch up in terms of sales to the rival PlayStation 4.

The Sony device is at the moment over the 10 million mark worldwide and the Xbox One is rumored to be only above 6 million shipped to stores.
