Rare, the famous game developer responsible for cult classics like GoldenEye, is working on a game for the Xbox 720, according to the CV of an animator who mentions that he's collaborating with Rare on a AAA next-generation Xbox release title.

Rare hasn't exactly gone through the best of times recently, as Microsoft tasked the studio with creating a variety of Kinect-powered titles.

Things will change soon, as the studio is reportedly working on a launch-day game for the Xbox 720 next-generation console.

The report arrives from Kotaku and references a resume of an animator who mentions he's working at Rare for a triple-A "next gen Xbox release title for 2013."

Previous reports mentioned that the Xbox 720's launch titles would include Ryse, a new Forza racing game, as well as a family game, which might be the Rare project.
