A brand new report has surfaced on the web saying that Microsoft's Xbox 720 announcements will now take place on May 21, as it's been pushed back from the initial April window.

Sony impressed millions of gamers by unveiling the PlayStation 4 ahead of rival Microsoft, which has since been busy preparing a special presentation of its own during which the next Xbox (codenamed Durango) will be revealed to the world.

While recent rumors hinted that the conference is going to take place in April, Microsoft insider Paul Thurrott has confirmed on Twitter that the company has pushed back the date for its Xbox 720 announcement and that it's now going to reveal the next-gen console on May 21.

No other details have been given so do take this new rumor with a grain of salt.
