Don Mattrick, the president of the Interactive Entertainment division at Microsoft, says that the company has big plans when it comes to the future of the Xbox 360, including a big slate of new video games set to be revealed during E3 2013.

The information was delivered during the reveal event for the new Xbox home console and suggests that Microsoft has plans to keep two platforms running at the same time and will seek to support both for a number of years.

The Xbox One is an important advance in terms of hardware and will allow players quicker access to their content, while also giving them a redesigned controller and more capable Kinect.

The Xbox 360 seems to be ready to live out its final years as a platform for indie games and for smaller experiences, while the blockbusters are moving to Xbox One.
