Fans of the newly launched XCOM: Enemy Unknown believe that an expansion for the game is already being developed and might soon be officially unveiled by the team at Firaxis.

The community says that a number of the goals that are listed on the World Achievements page for XCOM are not featured on the individual profiles that players can access, which might mean that they are dormant at the moment and will be activated via a new batch of content.

The icons featured on the World Achievements page show things like a dam, a train and a valve and the text suggests that the expansion for XCOM might introduce a new set of allies for humanity and presumably new enemies.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown is a mix between base and resource management and tactical turn-based action which tasks the player with leading a force funded by all the countries of the world that fight an alien invasion.
