Wargaming has announced that the latest update for their free-to-play massively multiplayer online flight combat game World of Warplanes just introduced Combat Missions to the list of in-game activities.

World of Warplanes is a military aviation combat simulator that throws players into a never-ending battle for supremacy of the skies, allowing them to build a full military career as a virtual pilot, spanning across several key eras of aerial warfare, from the biplanes of the 1930s to the jet fighters streaking across the sky in the Korean war.

The update goes live in Europe and North America today, on March 6, and adds a set of combat missions that will grant players various in-game rewards upon completion of the listed requirements, along with a redesigned post-battle screen that provides users with more detailed combat stats.

Update 1.2 also introduces the built-in functionality to record and playback battles at any time, along with a new matchmaking algorithm called "Sandbox," allowing starting players to master the basic skills and tactics involved in World of Warplanes without having to compete against veterans of the skies.

World of Warplanes came out in November last year, as a sister title to Wargaming's World Of Tanks, offering players over 100 vehicles from Germany, the Soviet Union, USA, Japan and Great Britain.
