Video game developer Blizzard announces that it will launch the big patch 6.1 for World of Warcraft on February 24 and will deliver a range of changes to the game mechanics, while also introducing a new chapter in the ongoing story that chronicles the way players are fighting the powerful Iron Horde.

The Heirloom system is being tweaked, with all the items offered before now set to be delivered for Gold to players, and there are also changes made to the way the garrison concept is implemented.

There are also cosmetic modifications applied to World of Warcraft in patch 6.1 and all those who have eye issues should now find it easier to play the MMO.

The list of changes introduced by the new patch is extensive and gamers can take a look at the version of the update which is at the moment live on the PTR, although it might be slightly modified before the February 24 launch.

World of Warcraft continues to be the most popular subscription-based MMO in the world of gaming, with more than 10 million players active, and Blizzard is using the feedback to shape the way the game is evolving.
