The World of Warcraft movie project is getting back into motion, as it seems that a new director, in the form of Duncan Jones, has taken over after Sam Raimi left the film at Legendary Pictures.

World of Warcraft is still one of the most popular online RPGs out there and various Hollywood companies have tried over the years to adapt its action into a movie and, for some time, Spider-Man director Sam Raimi was set to lead the project.

After splitting with Legendary Pictures after arguments about the budget, THR now reports that a new director has been named – Duncan Jones – who previously worked on low-budget projects like Source Code or moon.

The script, written by Charles Leavitt, is already complete so the report speculates that filming can begin towards the end of 2013.

What's more, another report, this time from Tracking Board, speculates that Johnny Depp could star in the movie, although nothing official is known about the cast of the World of Warcraft film.
