Video game developer Wargaming.net has announced that it has added French tanks to its World of Tanks MMO with the 7.1 update, which also includes a number of tweaks to the game mechanics and the usual bug fixes.

The French tanks will feature a number of game changing elements, like automatic loading systems and oscillating turrets, which will affect the way players need to approach them in order to succeed on the battlefield.

Mike Zhivets, who is the lead game designer for World Of Tanks, stated, “Our players already know how to play with the "big three" tank nations, but the French are all-different.”

He added, “You'll have to reconsider the way you think tanks behave before they let you tame them. And that's what we love them for!”

More French vehicles, like tank destroyers and artillery pieces, will be added later in 2012.

The French are seen as big losers when it comes to World War II but their tank design was fairly advanced and the machines that they employed can cause havoc on the battlefield.
