Wolfenstein: The New Order, the upcoming first-person shooter from MachineGames and Bethesda, will run at a 1080p full HD resolution and a 60fps framerate on both the PS4 and the Xbox One, according to its developer.

The Wolfenstein franchise is getting a reboot later this month with the launch of The New Order, a new take on the series that delivers an alternate reality in which the Nazis won World War 2 and brought forth an accelerated degree of advancement in technology, creating robots and more.

Players will once again take on the role of BJ Blazkowicz and try to stop the Nazi leaders from unleashing more chaos onto the world.

According to MachineGames’ Creative Director Jens Matthies, who talked with fans on Reddit, developing the new title on PS4 and Xbox One was quite simple and the developer managed to get the game running in high quality on both consoles.

"There are always tricky technical problems when developing games, but we have some amazingly skilled brains on those problems and I'm happy to report that Wolf will run with minimal visual disparity at 60fps/1080p on all platforms," according to the developer.

This is certainly novel, as quite a few recent Xbox One games have failed to reach 1080p resolution and 60fps framerate at the same time.

The game launches worldwide on May 20 for PC, PS3, Xbox 360, PS4, and Xbox One.
