Carbine Studios' upcoming massively multiplayer online role-playing game WildStar opens its doors to the world today, with the start of its open beta testing phase.

For the next 10 days, up until May 18, everyone can join and level their in-game avatar all the way up to level 30, getting a taste for the game before the big launch on June 3.

This is a great opportunity to try out the game, if you haven't been one of the lucky ones to get access to the closed beta sessions.

Wildstar looks kind of like a sci-fi World of Warcraft at first glance, but that's where the resemblance stops. It's a game showing huge potential, with a ton of features and a highly diversified gameplay experience, as the developers have revealed over the last months.

One of the beta testers has even created a full-fledged virtual skatepark in-game, making use of the robust player home building tools, and that is no doubt only the beginning of the madness.

The game is available for pre-order on the Wildstar website, and those who opt to purchase the game in advance get a variety of exclusive in-game items and perk, including early game access beginning on Saturday, May 31, a full three days prior to the launch.
