Insomniac Games' upcoming third-person shooter Sunset Overdrive has just gotten a TV commercial, trying to sum up everything the game has to offer in just 30 seconds.

The video does a pretty good job of it too, deploying the plot and showcasing the title's unique style, as well as offering a glimpse of the over-the-top action that gamers will get a taste of at the end of the month.

The commercial is currently aired in the United States of America, and it explains how the world went to hell after an energy drink transformed people into mutants, and then proceeds to show what the best way of dealing with such an infestation is: shooting the monsters in the face.

It appears that Microsoft considers Insomniac Games' creation one of the Xbox One's strongest titles for this holiday season, and it genuinely looks like an exciting twist on a genre that has been dominated by gritty realistic shooters of late.

Of course, as with any big-budget action blockbuster, Sunset Overdrive got its own snazzy Times Square billboard, which you can see in the gallery below.

Sunset Overdrive is scheduled to come out on October 28 in North America and October 31 in Europe, available exclusively for the Xbox One home console from Microsoft.
