Publisher Konami plans to showcase Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain's multiplayer mode on Thursday, but some gameplay footage has leaked ahead of the scheduled reveal on Thursday.

The reveal will basically be the 30-minute gameplay demonstration shown behind closed doors at Gamescom 2014, and some footage depicting Mother Base Invasions has made its way on the Internet for all the world to see.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain enables players to invade other gamers' Mother Base, and then steal some resources if they fail to protect it.

During your adventures, while completing missions, you'll be able to gain resources and outfit your Mother Base with turrets, machinery, and even with enemy soldiers, recruited to join your cause and fight for you.

There are still a lot of interactions and features to be shown off, but the morsel of multiplayer gameplay footage offers a fair idea of how conflicts will go down.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is set for release sometime in 2015, for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms. The game is also coming to PC, via Steam, alongside Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, its prequel, released in March this year on consoles.
