Yves Guillemot, the leader of publisher Ubisoft, says that the E3 2012 impact on Watch Dogs persuaded his firm to give the development team working on the game all the resources they needed to realize their long-term vision.

The chief executive officer tells MCV that “You always have great ideas, but you need enough people to bring it to life. After E3, we really made sure they had all the teams they needed and it’s an open world, that is well-adapted to what people want to play today.”

The game also made a big impact during the recent reveal event of the PlayStation 4 console from Sony.

The new open world experience is focused on such themes as surveillance and hacking.

The game will be launched on the PC, the PlayStation 3, the Wii U and the Xbox 360 later this year.
