Video game developer Crytek is getting ready to launch its free-to-play shooter Warface and, in order to increase player interest, the company is delivering a new trailer built around weapon modding.

Most titles in the genre only allow a player to change his load-out elements after he dies but, in Warface, gamers will be able to modify their equipped weapon while they are moving around the level.

Warface is the first free game from Crytek and shows how the company wants to approach future development.

Cevat Yerli, the chief executive officer of the developer, recently criticized Team Fortress 2 because it allows play-to-win strategies.

In Warface, gamers will only be able to use real-world money to buy cosmetic enhancements, and all equipment that can give an advantage has to be gained via gameplay.
