The company has not offered an official reason for the process

Video game publisher Ubisoft announces that it is launching a maintenance period for the PC version of its Uplay service, which is expected to last until 14:00 AM Central European Time and 08:00 AM Eastern Standard Time.

The company writes on the official forums that, “During this time, you may lose connection to uPlay services for a few seconds. Party and chat conversations will be unstable. Kind regards.”

Ubisoft is not saying why it is performing the maintenance or what players need to do in case they are unable to access Uplay after the announced period is over.

The service is designed to organize and launch all titles that the company is publishing, but it has failed to become as popular as Origin from Electronic Arts and Steam from Valve.

Uplay has also been affected by a big security breach that forced Ubisoft to upgrade its protection measures.
