Diablo 3 is set to receive a brand new hotfix update in the following days that will alter the way the Greater Rifts work, particularly the Realm of Trials mechanic that gauges the power of the players venturing into its environment.

Diablo 3 has been around for quite some time, and recently Blizzard rolled out a fresh update, in the form of patch 2.1.1, which made some key changes to classes like the Witch Doctor, as well as to mechanics like the Kadala merchant.

However, a new hotfix patch is set to go live on the game's servers, with a direct effect on the actual gameplay.

According to the announcement on the Battle.net forums, the new update affects the Realm of Trials mechanic in the Greater Rifts, as it will not offer an increased Greater Rift keystone reward for groups of players that complete the trials.

For example, two players will receive a keystone equal to their last wave completed, minus four levels. Therefore, if you complete wave 20, you'll get a level 16 keystone.

Three players will get the last wave minus five, while four individuals will receive keystones equal to the last wave minus six.

These changes aren't live just yet in the game, but they are set to be added in the near future across all territories.
