Unreal Tournament, the franchise that made Epic Games into the successful independent developer it is today, is making a comeback next week, at least according to the studio's co-founder, Mark Rein, who confirmed that the series will see some sort of revival, powered by Unreal Engine 4.
Epic Games is currently working hard on improving the Unreal Engine 4 technology as well as on several different projects like the upcoming Fortnite.
However, while the studio has denied developing a new Unreal Tournament title, Epic's Mark Rein has revealed on Twitter that the classic series is going to make a comeback and that the official announcement is set to debut next week.
Epic Games' Paul Meegan seemingly shared some more insight on the matter, as the new Unreal Tournament game is a collaboration between the UNrea Engine 4 development community and the studio itself.
Details are sketchy but it could end up being a remake of classic entries in the series like Unreal Tournament 2004, now possible in the Unreal Engine 4 technology.
As of yet, Epic's staff are staying tight lipped so expect to hear more on Thursday, when the studio will organize a special live stream centered around Unreal Engine 4.
