The development team at Epic Games has already announced that it will make the entire Unreal Engine 4 development suite available for all interested developers as long as they are ready to pay royalties when they finally deliver a title based on it, and the company is now focused on showing off the quality of the content that can be created using its tools.

A new trailer called Kite uses the Unreal Engine 4 as it exists now and the power of the newly announced GTX Titan X graphics card from Nvidia to show the detailed landscapes and the beauty of the environments they can deliver.

Epic Games states, "Everything you see is generated in real time by Unreal Engine 4 at 30fps. This demo showcases Unreal Engine large world features, photo reconstruction and procedural asset placement."

Unreal Engine 4 is facing tough competition from the new Unity 5, which is also offering a free version, and from the Source 2 tech that Valve has unveiled.

Epic Games is saying that it will use the technology it has created to power its own video game, Fortnite, which should be out on both PC and home consoles before the end of the year.
