The new VR headset can easily be used in UE4-powered games

Epic Games has confirmed that its new Unreal Engine 4 technology has support for a variety of middleware components, including the Oculus Rift Virtual Reality headset.

Unreal Engine 4 is designed by Epic Games to help other developers create great looking games for next-generation platforms like the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, but also for other devices, like the PC.

In order to make the technology even more appealing, the studio has confirmed that it's going to integrate support for various other middleware solutions that are specialized in different areas.

The most important is the Oculus Rift Virtual Reality headset, which allows games to be played easily with the special gadget.

Epic is expected to once again show off the Unreal Engine 4 next week at E3 2013.
