Todd Stashwick, whose voice was heard on the original Uncharted trailer and who was thought to play the villain in the upcoming game, says that his part has been recast by the team at Naughty Dog and that he will no longer be involved with the project in any way.

IGN quotes the writer and actor as saying that he was only recently informed about the decision and that he did not receive any other details about why it was taken.

Neither developer Naughty Dog nor publisher Sony has commented on the decision so far.

The two companies have not yet offered any clear information on the story of the upcoming Uncharted title or the kind of characters that players will be able to encounter.

It’s unclear whether the recast of the Todd Stashwick role is in any way related to his decision to become one of the co-writers of the next Star Wars video game from Visceral Games, where he will work with Amy Hennig, another developer who was previously involved with Uncharted.

The new title in the series is exclusive to the PlayStation 4 home console from Sony and it seems that gameplay from it and more details will be offered at E3 2014.
