The Ultimate Roguelike competition saw teams competing to create different versions of dungeon crawlers, all using the same tileset. The winner has been decided and the dispute ended.

The Ultimate Roguelike competition is part of the Trials of Oryx, a contest held by Bungie art director Christopher Barrett, a well-known presence in the indie community, especially famous for his tilesets and stunning visuals.

The judges were Glenn Wichman, Barrett and Ido Yehieli, creator of Cardinal Quest, and together they have decided that Adventuring Company from Slothwerks is the worthiest title.

Glenn Wichman is the co-creator of the 80's dungeon crawler rogue, a game that has since been featured in the name of the entire genre of games it created: roguelike.

The full list of participants can be found on the Trials of Oryx webpage, many of them being playable from the browser.
