Ubisoft has seemingly confirmed that the upcoming Nintendo Wii U version of Watch Dogs won't get any sort of downloadable content, but it quickly deleted the statement, either due to the backlash or a sudden change of plans.

Watch Dogs appeared after quite some time on the PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One platforms at the end of spring, selling millions of copies and impressing quite a few fans. However, Wii U owners were forced to endure an extra delay, as Ubisoft revealed that it needed extra development time for that version of the game.

Recently, a November release date was pinned onto Watch Dogs for the Wii U, but not much else is known about this neglected version of the game.

Yesterday, Ubisoft made a statement on its Twitter page, confirming that there would be no DLC or Season Pass released for Watch Dogs on the Wii U, effectively meaning that new events, modes, or story expansions already launched on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, or Xbox One would stay there and not make the journey to the Wii U.

However, Ubisoft pulled the tweet down, not before it reached Reddit, and declined to comment any further.

It's possible that the publisher didn't anticipate the backlash or had a sudden change of plans. Right now, however, everything is still unclear.
