After Electronic Arts publicly distanced itself from Nintendo's Wii U home console, Ubisoft has issued a statement saying that it's quite confident in the Japanese company and that it will continue to make games for the device.

Nintendo released the Wii U last November and, while it had been supported by many third-party companies, some decided to no longer focus on the Wii U.

For example, EA confirmed that, due to low sales of the games that had already been released on the console, it was going to ignore the device.

Meanwhile, Ubisoft has issued a statement to GamesIndustry, emphasizing its support of the Wii U and its confidence in Nintendo.

The French publisher highlights that, like with any new console, the Wii U needs time to grow its user base and that Ubisoft is going to support it by releasing games like Rayman Legends, Watch Dogs, Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, or Splinter Cell: Blacklist for the device.
