Darby McDevitt, the lead writer of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, says that his team is ready to learn from the ideas created by its fans and the titles launched by its competitors in order to make the franchise better.

He tells VG247 that, “We’re always listening to players, even players of our competitors. We’re always trying to improve our own game, incorporating good ideas if we think they make sense in the game.”

Apparently, when Black Flag was being created, the Ubisoft studio was reading a lot of the reactions to the launch of Far Cry 3 and trying to find out which ideas it could incorporate.

Assassin’s Creed IV was a solid success and the publisher is clearly in the early development stages for another title in the series.

Speculation among the fan community suggests that the action might move to Imperial France or to Egypt in the near future.
