Scot Lane, an executive producer working on End of Nations, believes that the new version of the game will transcend the Multiplayer Online Battle Arena and the real-time strategy genres while picking up the best ideas from both.

He tells PCGamesN that, “We have Hero units and tactical leveling that you find in MOBA’s, but we also have user-controlled units and some of the micro aspects found in RTS games. That being said, the real change we made was from RTS/MMO to more of a tactical MOBA.”

During the development process, the team at Trion Worlds saw that MMO elements in End of Nations did not work very well and decided to make the shift towards the MOBA space.

At the moment, the game is in alpha stage and the beta is expected to arrive before the end of the year.
