The development team at The Creative Assembly and publisher SEGA are delivering the first image of the full map for the new Imperator Augustus campaign, which is set to be included in the coming Emperor Edition version of Total War: Rome II, set to be offered on the PC for free to all owners on September 16.

The team explains on the official wiki that "The campaign starts in 41 BC at the height of the Second Triumvirate. Below you can see the start positions of all ten playable factions as well as the 65 minor, non-playable factions. Similar to the previous campaign packs Hannibal at The Gates and Caesar in Gaul one year during the campaign will consist of four turns per year."

The new campaign is designed to show how the various forces inside and around Rome positioned themselves to take advantage of the death of Julius Caesar.

The historical struggle portrayed in the coming content for Total War: Rome II ended with the victory of Octavian, the adopted son of the great statesman and general, but gamers will have plenty of options to change history and make their favorites the leaders of the known world.

The Emperor Edition for the strategy title will include all free content offered since launch and a range of improvements to politics, AI and the way building chains work.
