The development team at Wargaming, best known for its work on World of Tanks, is officially announcing that it is the new owner of both Total Annihilation and Master of Orion, two classic strategy franchises.

Victor Kislyi, the chief executive officer of the company, says, “Total Annihilation and Master of Orion are strategy game classics. Although it’s too soon to disclose any details, we are more than willing to give a new lease of life to these games most of us grew up playing.”

The statement suggests that the team is not interested in re-launching the classic titles and will focus on the development of new content for both Total Annihilation and Master of Orion.

A revival of the first game, called Planetary Annihilation, is currently in development at Uber.

Wargaming is also getting ready to launch the beta phase for World of Warplanes, which now also includes British aircraft.
