The Torment: Tides of Numenera Kickstarter project has ended at the whopping sum of $4.1 million (€3.1 million), breaking the record for the most successful game on the crowdfunding website and guaranteeing that the team at inXile Entertainment will be able to deliver the best old-school role-playing game set in the famous universe.

Classic RPGs may not be embraced by current video game publishers or developers, but Brian Fargo and his team at inXile, after the success of their Wasteland 2 project, decided to set up another Kickstarter page for Torment: Tides of Numenera.

The project had an initial target sum of $900,000 (€690,000), but that was quickly met in less than 24 hours.

Now, after 30 days, the total Kickstarter sum is 4.1 million USD (around 3.1 million EUR), which is the highest a game project on the crowdfunding website has ever gotten to.

The studio also received lots of PayPal donations so the actual amount of money is even higher.

To celebrate, a brand new test video has appeared, showing off the Sagus Cliffs, so check it out above.

The Torment: Tides of Numenera game is set to appear in 2015.
