Tony Hawk has revealed that he is working on a new proper skating game for the long-dormant series that originated in 1999.

The news came during the Demolition Radio show on SiriusXM , featuring the famous pro skateboarder, where he repeatedly stated that "we're working on a game," but refused to offer more details.

The latest entry in the Tony Hawk series is an HD remake of a spin-off title, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD, made by Romodo and released as a downloadable console game.

Later, Activision has confirmed to IGN that they are currently involved with Tony Hawk, working on a new project, and that "more info is coming soon."

Plans for a future entry to the series were discussed as early as October, 2013, but until now nothing certain was iterated by any party.

While the first games in the series were received with enthusiasm by both critics and players, since the release of Tony Hawk's American Wasteland back in 2005 the games have seen waning interest up to the point where poor reviews and sales led to a discontinuation of the franchise.

It should be interesting to see what a modern skateboarding game can offer, especially since a few years on hold might have made fans of the original games miss playing a similar title.
