The online multiplayer shooter won't promote local play

Titanfall developer REspawn Entertainment has confirmed that the upcoming multiplayer first-person shooter will not support splitscreen locally, as it seems that the studio hasn't allocated resources towards this feature.

Quite a few online shooters promote local cooperative play by featuring a splitscreen mode, and already some Xbox One titles have used it, like the upcoming Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare.

Titanfall, however, won't have splitscreen, at least according to a tweet from Respawn co-founder Vince Zampella, who talked with fans about such a feature.

No actual reasoning was given, so it's unclear whether Titanfall just can't use the power of the Xbox One, let alone the Xbox 360, in order to run two instances at the same time.

Performance problems for Titanfall have already been rumored earlier this month, so we still don’t know how the game will run on the two consoles.
