The first-person shooter was wildly successful, in spite of being multiplayer only

Respawn Entertainment's Titanfall has been incredibly successful since its release this March, in spite of the fact that it completely lacked single-player content, showing that focusing on delivering a great multiplayer experience can be enough to sell your game.

However, that doesn't mean that Respawn has completely ruled out the possibility of incorporating a single-player campaign in subsequent games in the series, and there's a good chance that we might end up seeing some of that in the future.

"Would I rule [a single-player mode] out for the future? Certainly not. But I think that there's a lot of reward in continuing to push the paradigm that Titanfall introduced, which is this always connected, real live visceral multiplayer universe."

"We learned a lot, and I think it's up to us to think about how we apply the learning to make the next game even more expansive and more engaging than the first," Respawn COO Dusty Welch has told GameInformer.

Titanfall is scheduled to receive a hefty update later this month, on the PC and Xbox platform, introducing some new game modes and Burn Cards. The update will also be released for the Xbox 360 edition of the first-person shooter, a little further down the line.
