The Titanfall Xbox One bundle, however, isn't selling so well

Titanfall, the upcoming first-person shooter from Respawn Entertainment, has already helped sell 1 million Xbox One units worldwide, according to a new report citing sources at Microsoft.

Titanfall is one of the biggest games of the year and it will debut this week for the PC and Xbox One platforms, while hitting the Xbox 360 at the end of the month.

Microsoft is really committing to this exclusivity on its platforms and has helped promote the new multiplayer shooter in all sorts of ways.

This campaign is paying off, as industry insider Pete Dodd, citing sources from Microsoft's marketing division, says Titanfall has already helped sell over 1 million Xbox One devices.

"Marketing guys project that Titanfall has already helped sell around 1 million Xbox Ones. This is based off of things like upticks in sales after every major Titanfall announcements," he said on NeoGAF.

While that's great news for Microsoft, the Titanfall Xbox One bundle that was revealed last month, however, isn't actually selling as well as the company had hoped.

"The Titanfall bundle is selling less than Microsoft projected (but they are still hopeful for a big swing come Tuesday)," the insider added.

As such, seeing as how Sony already has a big advantage in terms of sales for the PS4, it's possible that Microsoft won't be able to catch up via Titanfall's release.
