Thomas Was Alone creator Mike Bithell revealed that his much-acclaimed platformer managed to sell a total of over one million copies.

For those of you who don’t know, Thomas Was Alone features a jumping rectangle and some great narration that goes way beyond its simplistic gameplay, and has won the hearts of many critics and gamers, as the sales figure clearly demonstrates.

The impressive feat of topping a million units sold comes after the game was featured in the latest Humble Bundle sale alongside other great platformers such as Teslagrad and Limbo.

The announcement came over Twitter, made by Mike Bithell himself, who also made sure to point out that the bulk of the sales was in bundles, discounts and promotions. Either way, the game did very good.

Thomas Was Alone is also currently featured as a free game for PlayStation Plus subscribers, and Bithell assured curious gamers that the revealed figure only includes sales, and not total number of downloads, the number for which is “a fair bit higher.”

Following Thomas Was Alone’s success, the indie game maker has begun working on his second title, a stealth game that’s a little bit more complex, titled Volume. His previous work includes Surgeon Simulator, back when he was working at Bossa Studios.
