Eidos Montreal has confirmed that its upcoming Thief reboot won't have a multiplayer mode, as the team wants to focus on the game's campaign and make sure that the franchise will make a great comeback.

The Thief series has delighted plenty of fans with great stealth-based experiences that relied on telling impressive stories that focused on master thief Garrett.

With the upcoming reboot, Eidos Montreal wants to bring the franchise back in an even more impressive way albeit with quite a few distinct changes, like a new style for Garrett and an overall darker tone for the game's world.

Now, the game's Producer, Stephane Roy, has confirmed to Eurogamer that the title won't include a multiplayer mode, as the studio is focusing primarily on the single-player campaign.

A challenge mode with some online components could be included in the game ahead of its release in 2014 but, as of yet, the team is still hard at work on the campaign.
