Square Enix and Eidos Montreal have confirmed that their upcoming Thief title will run at a full HD 1080p resolution on the PS4, while on the Xbox One it will have a smaller 900p native resolution. Framerates are locked on both devices at 30fps.

Thief promises to deliver a brand new stealth-focused experience in the long-running series, and developer Eidos Montreal has already showcased the title through various gameplay videos or screenshots.

Now, Eidos has confirmed previous rumors that the game will run at a full HD native resolution of 1080p on the PS4 and at 900p on the Xbox One.

Both console versions will have a 30fps framerate and, according to a statement via Eurogamer, most players won't even notice the difference in native resolution.

"You really need good eyes to see the difference," game director Nicolas Cantin said. "The immersion is more [on next-gen]. We put more detail in, more special effects. But at the same time, we kept the same gameplay experience with the current-gen and the next-gen versions."

Thief launches next week on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
