All over the world, PCs are seeing their retirement looming on the horizon, as Grand Theft Auto V and The Witcher 3 are bound to get a ton of people to upgrade their rigs in order to enjoy the best experience possible.

Developer CD Projekt RED has revealed a series of very impressive screenshots from the upcoming role-playing game, showcasing the stunning visuals that the title is able to output at 4K resolution.

Granted, only a select few will be able to actually enjoy the game at that kind of crazy resolution, since for most rigs out there, the mere idea of rendering The Witcher 3 in a more reasonable 1080p is worrisome enough.

The developers are aiming to raise the bar of realism with the upcoming role-playing game, in both graphics and artificial intelligence, offering players a sprawling open world to adventure in. The mature themes explored in the two previous installments will be found in abundance in the third chapter, concluding protagonist Geralt of Rivia's storyline, by having him unearth the mysteries of his past.

The screenshots that CD Projekt Red has offered us via Twitter are meant to whet our appetite for the massive and beautiful game world, and to make us wish for a better video card.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is scheduled to drop on Windows PC and the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 home consoles next month, on May 19.
