The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt visual downgrade debacle is in full swing, and thousands of comments are pouring into threads all over the Internet.

No matter where you sit in the debate, the game did look significantly better in its initial reveal, and a lot of users with powerful rigs would like it to look the same right now.

Fortunately, some people have decided to take matters into their own hands, toying around with SweetFX and the game's .ini settings, managing to make The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt look a little better.

You can check out the before and after screenshots, together with a handy slider, on the SweetFX database, in order to see how the game looks with decreased saturation and some other tweaks.

The page also has instructions on how to activate the changes on your own, but keep in mind that it might affect performance, as some users have reported on the accompanying Reddit thread.

The SweetFX preset has the biggest impact on how the game looks, reducing color saturation and making everything look a little darker, but it doesn't add anything else to the game, so don't expect any miracles.

We're currently working on our review of The Witcher 3, so stay tuned.
