Telltale Games’ episodic adventure video game, The Walking Dead, is coming back for a third season, as outed at the San Diego Comic-Con.

The news comes from Telltale President Kevin Bruner and The Walking Dead Comic Creator Robert Kirkman, who have confirmed the plans to make a third season of the narrative-driven, episodic video game.

For now, no details regarding a prospective release date or story-related information have been revealed, but taking into account the fact that the game’s second season is still incomplete, it’s likely to be a while until we see The Walking Dead Season 3.

The latest Season 2 episode, titled Amid the Ruins, was released earlier this week, and is the penultimate installment planned so far. In case you’re interested in finding out more about it, you can read our review of The Walking Dead Season 2 Episode 4: Amid the Ruins.

Telltale Games is also planning to make Game of Thrones and Borderlands adaptations, that will be delivered in the same consecrated manner, with an emphasis on storyline, tense moments and difficult moral decisions.

Considering how much the company already has on its plate and taking into account the release schedule of former installments in The Walking Dead series, with Season 1 released in April 2012, and Season 2 in December 2013, it’s likely that The Walking Dead Season 3 will be out sometime in early 2015.
