Apparently, Santa is a demon that you have to defeat before receiving your presents

The Secret World players will enjoy a special kind of festive joy this year, the kind you get from battling the supernatural until it gives you its precious loot.

The holiday spirit can be found everywhere, but in some places it’s not exactly what you would expect. While regular people conjure an atmosphere of joy and giving, The Secret World players seek to beat up Krampus, the bane of naughtiness, and then enter a portal to the mythological Mist World of Niflheim.

The Norse realm of mist and frost is home to many enemies and secrets, among which a ritual to summon Hel herself, which players then have to defeat. They can even summon her in their world and take her on in a raid-size challenge, as Joystiq informs.

Additions have also been made to the PvP system, giving players the chance to become the Lord of Misrule, changing their appearance and imbuing them with new powers, such as the ability to drop exploding presents and to put up a knockback shield.

This unique ability is only bestowed for five minutes at a time and can be gained through slaying the previous owner, encouraging the slaughter fest.

A somewhat revised version of last year's holiday event, the End of Days, is also making a return.
