Naughty Dog wants to support the game on both platforms

Naughty Dog, the developer of The Last of Us, has confirmed that it won't release any other single-player expansions for the game on PS3 or PS4, but that new multiplayer items are going to appear for the two platforms in the near future.

The Last of Us first appeared for the PS3 last summer and delighted millions of fans with a great story, a top notch survival-oriented gameplay, and an intense multiplayer mode.

Since then, developer Naughty Dog has released several DLC packs for the multiplayer mode that added new modes and items, and even a single-player expansion called Left Behind.

Now, all those add-ons are being bundled together and overhauled for the PS4, in the form of The Last of Us Remastered.

However, this doesn't mean that Naughty Dog is done with the DLC, quite the opposite as Community Strategist Arne Meyer has told DigitalSpy about the new add-on plans.

"We just wanted to say when we released the Remastered version, we know there’s a lot of DLC out there, and that we weren’t going to stop supporting both the PS3 and PS4 versions," he said. “We do have some DLC planned, it’ll be multiplayer focused. We’re not ready to talk about the details yet, but throughout the rest of the year we’ll have some DLC drops."

As such, don't expect new single-player add-ons to appear.
