At the San Diego Comic Con 2014 Sony and developer Naughty Dog revealed the first details about The Last of Us movie, which could actually star actress Maisie Williams (of Game of Thrones fame) as Ellie, not to mention fan favorite Bruce Campbell as some unknown role.

The Last of Us delivered a great gaming experience last year on PS3 and next week it's finally making its debut on the PS4 as part of a remastered game to take advantage of the new console's power.

At the same time, Director Neil Druckmann has been asked by Sony's Pictures division to spearhead the development of a movie based on the game.

At Comic Con 2014, Druckmann confirmed, via VG247, that he's teamed up with producer Sam Raimi and that he'll write a script that stays true to the game while making a few concessions to keep the action shorter and more intense.

While both Druckmann and Raimi emphasized that the movie "won't come out for years," they added that they're in talks with Maisie Williams, the British actress who plays Arya Stark on HBO's Game of Thrones TV show.

Raimi also mentioned that his favorite actor, Bruce Campbell of Evil Dead fame, will find some place in the upcoming movie.

Last but not least, a teaser image showing Ellie holding a switchblade has been revealed and you can admire it above.
