The digital version of The Last of Us requires a massive 26GB download, as developer Naughty Dog has confirmed that PS3 owners will need to clear up a lot of hard drive space before downloading the game.

The Last of Us is one of the big PlayStation 3 exclusives of the year and, like many recent games for the console, it's going to be made available day-and-date on the PlayStation Store as a downloadable title.

For those who want to get the game digitally, Naughty Dog has confirmed on the PS blog that the file size is around 26GB, meaning PS3 owners will need to clear up a lot of space before attempting to download and install the game.

The PSN edition of the game comes with a bonus Sights & Sounds DLC Pack as well as a PSN theme.
