The long awaited game is no longer coming to the PlayStation 3, apparently

A former Sony employee named Kenny Linder has come forward and revealed that the company's long in-development The Last Guardian project, which was announced back in 2010 for the PS3, is actually going to appear on the PlayStation 4.

The Last Guardian promised to deliver a new type of experience on the PS3 back in 2010, as it was coming from Sony's famous Team Ico, the same studio behind cult classics like Ico or Shadow of the Colossus.

Sadly, not much was heard about the game, with only rumors and reports that it had been canceled, but those were quickly denied by former Team Ico leader and now consultant on the game, Fumito Ueda.

According to Kenny Linder, a former Sony employee who worked at Bigbig studios, The Last Guardian's development was restarted several times and on the last occasion it became a game set to appear on the PlayStation 4.

Linder mentioned on NeoGAF that the actual platform of The Last Guardian was unclear even when it was revealed to the world, so the move to the PS4 makes sense, although it's unknown if it's going to appear as a game right on the console's launch.
