The Evil Within is set to be launched on October 14 and all those who want to get a comprehensive idea of what the new horror title has to offer can watch a new 60-minute-long clip showing off the core mechanics and story of the title.

The footage features Pete Hines, the leading public relations executive at Bethesda, playing through the ninth chapter of the title, called The Cruelest Intentions, on the PlayStation 4 home console from Sony.

The company has been long promoting the title as one that will take the horror genre back to its roots, focusing on scary moments, tension-filled exploration, and limited resources for the player character.

The game is designed by Shinji Mikami, who put together the first titles in the Resident Evil series, and he says that the entire experience is the result of years of testing for the core gameplay mechanics.

During Gamescom 2014, Bethesda announced that The Evil Within had a new Season Pass, which allows those who pick it up to get access to three pieces of downloadable content.

The first of them will include a series of challenge rooms in which gamers will become Boxman, one of the monsters included in the title, and the other two will allow players to step into the shoes of Juli Kidman, the partner of the main character, who is getting her own horror-filled story.
