Video game developer ZeniMax Online and publisher Bethesda are announcing that they are introducing a new Welcome Back Weekend for all those who were part of the beta for the MMO but never got the full experience.

The event starts off on Thursday, April 16, at 10 AM Easter Daylight Time and runs until Monday, April 20, at 10 AM EDT.

It's unclear whether progress will transfer for those who get the full game after that.

The announcement explains, "We're inviting all beta players who never purchased the game to join us for a free weekend! You'll be able to download the game and experience all of our six major game updates, tons of improvements and fixes, and all of Tamriel Unlimited."

All those who are eligible for participation will receive an official e-mail that offers more information and explains how they can download and update The Elder Scrolls Online for the coming free period.

The title from Bethesda launches with a subscription, and at the moment it is using a free-to-play business model.

Gamers can visit the world of Tamriel at will, but those who are willing to pay a monthly fee will be able to get a more complex experience, with a range of extra options for their characters and quests.
